It has long been known that women own and grow businesses at lower rates than men do, but there remains significant debate about why this is the case and what changes need to be made to reach gender equity in business ownership. With recently-completed in-depth research on women business owners and the entrepreneurial ecosystem as a whole in the Phoenix area, we are getting closer to having the answers.
I am so excited that Empowered PhXX is contributing to the knowledge and requesting concrete action by releasing the report A New Vision for Phoenix Entrepreneurship: Recommendations to Maximize the Economic Impact of Women-Owned Businesses on May 22nd. This report contains recommendations based on our local research (led by Dr. Nancy Jurik and Dr. Melissa Kovacs)
and informed by national research that can be enacted by anyone.
I would love to see you at the report release event: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-new-vision-for-phoenix-entrepreneurship-recommendations-to-maximize-the-economic-impact-of-women-tickets-43287876203, and when you are ready to make a commitment to lead through action for women business owners, I will be happy to connect you to Empowered PhXX.
