wOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

In collaboration with Arizona State University faculty and graduate students, Elemental is studying the experiences of women entrepreneurs. From the research findings, Elemental will make policy recommendations for ways municipalities, higher education and community organizations could work to increase the number of women-owned businesses thriving and growing, thereby creating jobs.

TRANSIT: S-PAT

 

In collaboration with the Neighborhood Economic Development Corporation (NEDCO) and St. Luke’s Health Initiatives (SLHI), Elemental designed the Sustainable Communities Collaborative Project Assessment Tool (S-PAT): Guide for Evaluating Transit-Oriented Development Proposals for the Valley of the Sun. The guide was created to assist residents in identifying the benefits of public transportation focusing on the opportunities it brings for economic and housing development, connectivity, and efficient use of resources.

REINVENT PHX

 

Reinvent PHX is a multi-phase project partnering the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City of Phoenix, St. Luke’s Health Initiatives, ASU and many other organizations to assess current conditions within five districts along Phoenix’s light rail and to propose strategies for future development aimed at improving the quality of life for residents. As part of the St. Luke’s Health Initiatives health assessment team, Elemental designed and conducted all participatory planning workshops in the five districts and prepared comprehensive reports detailing findings.
